How the Photochromic Lenses Work
Photochromic molecules embedded in the lens react to ultraviolet light. Step outside and the lens darkens within seconds to cut glare and soften bright light; head back inside and it returns to clear in a couple of minutes. The reaction is fully reversible and never wears out.

Do they work in a car?
Most car windshields block the UV that activates photochromic lenses, so darkening behind the wheel is reduced. For driving in strong sun, a dedicated pair of sunglasses is still the better choice.
Will the tint block blue light indoors?
Yes. The blue light filtering works whether the lens is clear or tinted, so screen protection is active all day.
How dark do the lenses get?
In direct sunlight they darken to a medium grey tint similar to light sunglasses, then fade back to virtually clear indoors.

The lenses darken when UV light reaches them and clear again indoors, usually within 10 to 30 seconds in each direction. Because car windshields filter UV, they stay mostly clear behind the wheel.
Which colours can I order?

Will the frame suit my face shape?
The TR90 polymer front is shaped to sit level on most face widths, and the temples adjust at the hinge. If the frame feels tight at the temples on arrival, easing them outward a few millimetres is enough.

Can the coating wear off?
